Abstract :
With respect to through-wall-radar imaging, ambiguities in wall characteristics including thickness and relative permittivity will defocus the target image and displace the target away from its true location. To address this problem, an estimation approach for equivalent wall parameters is proposed. Firstly, multiple couples of assumed wall parameters are adopted to form multiple target images. Then image sharpness is calculated to represent the focusing level of target image, and maximum sharpness curve is achieved to demonstrate the correlation between wall thickness and relative permittivity. Finally, each couple of wall parameters corresponding to this curve are regarded as the equivalent wall parameters rather than the true wall parameters. Simulation results demonstrate that these equivalent wall parameters with ambiguities can be applied to form the focusing target images with the negligible target displacement.
