  • Abstract
Principal component analysis and Akaike information criterion based image enhancement scheme is proposed for ground penetrating radar images. The scheme is capable of discriminating target, clutter and noise subspaces. Information theoretic criterion is used with conventional principal component analysis to find the target eigen values. Proposed scheme works for extracting multiple targets in heavy cluttered ground penetrating radar images. Simulation results are compared on the basis of mean square error, peak signal to noise ratio and visual inspection.
