Abstract :
Due to the limited azimuth resolution of monopulse radar, the precision of angle estimation is degraded by multiple unresolved targets. An angle extractor named “estimation and cancellation” based on matching pursuit (MP) is proposed. Firstly, the new method employs the past echoes to estimate the positions (range and angle) and powers of the interested target and interfering ones. Secondly, interfering targets´ echoes are reconstructed based on prior information obtained by MP and subtracted from the current received signals. Finally, the interested target´s angle is estimated using the residual echoes based on the monopulse angle estimation. Simulation results demonstrate the performance of the proposed approach.
