Abstract
In this paper, the equivalence principle algorithm (EPA) is proposed to solve electromagnetic scattering from periodic arrays of general uniaxial media. The equivalence principle allows the replacement of unknown electric and magnetic currents on the uniaxial media by equivalence electric and magnetic currents residing on the surface that bounds the uniaxial media. With the EPA, the number of unknowns and memory requirement could be decreased. In this manner, calculations of complicate Green´s function for the uniaxial media can be greatly reduced. Numerical results demonstrate that computational time and memory requirement are decreased while solving scattering problem of general uniaxial media arrays.
