Abstract :
Current harmonic compensation is the main concern in improving Power Quality. In order to maintain good power factor, the current must be harmonic free. For current harmonic compensation Voltage Source Inverter based Shunt Active Power Filter is used, whose operation is entirely governed by pulse generation algorithm. The main aim of control algorithm is to extract fundamental component of current. This component is then subtracted from load current to compute reference current for pulse generation circuit. In this paper, Wavelet transform is used to build Low Pass filter. So, this approach will help to compute fundamental component of current, precisely. Simulation results are given, which shows validation of method used.
