  • Abstract
    In order to improve the security and controllability of the wireless communication systems, free space optical (FSO) technology is adopted on some special occasions. FSO system generally uses visible light or infrared light as carrier. The paper gave a new solution to use FSO technology to establish Ethernet connections. The research first focused on the LED source, in which the visible LED array was used. Then the principle of optical receiver with diversity technology was analyzed, including two different links in the theory. Finally the IP113A_LF chip was used to design the circuit of Ethernet media converter. The performance of the system is tested in the end.
