Abstract
In recent years, spectral residual for saliency detection has attracted many attentions because of its good performance and low complexity. In this paper we will discuss some properties of spectral residual: 1) is amplitude important for spectral residual? 2) The effect of resolution for spectral residual. 3) The relationship between spectral residual and edge detection. We also proposed a fast spectrum detection algorithm which only involves addition/subtraction. The results are demonstrated with Bruce and Tsotsos benchmark dataset.
