Abstract
Outage capacity is an important performance measure of communication systems, which quantifies the level of capacity that is guaranteed with a certain level of reliability. This paper makes a detailed derivation of instantaneous capacity for several linearly preceded MEMO systems defined in LTE-A, with codebook fixed and unfixed. Outage capacity is simulated numerically. For multi-user systems, the performance of different preceding strategies are compared. In general, preceding using SINR criterion performs better than SLNR criterion; the fixed codebook for preceding always induces an innegligible performance loss; MU-MISO preforms poorly because of the interference limitation; MU-MIMO has a larger outage capacity (q = 5%) than SU-MIMO with equal total transmit power, while it is not always true if q is small (q <; 10-4) for the codebook fixed case.
