Abstract :
The scope of this paper is electromagnetic compatibility of the narrowband power line communication (PLC) technology in CENELEC A frequency range. Originally developed mathematical model is based on the wire antenna theory and the thin wire approximation. Resulting set of integral equations is solved by the means of the Galerkin Bubnov weak formulation of the boundary element method. Proposed model is compared to the classical transmission line model which is suitable for the CENELEC A frequency range if limited to the straight wire geometries. Numerical results for the current distribution, and radiated electric and magnetic field are obtained for a number of frequencies and wire geometries. Maximum levels of the calculated electric field are compared to the limits defined by the international standards.
