Abstract :
This paper discusses the criteria and processes for acceptance testing and validation of stability type models of the wind turbines and wind power plants (WPPs). Some of the modeling issues experienced in the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) are discussed. These include suitability of the stability models when connected to weak power systems with low short circuit ratio, and for investigation of unbalanced disturbances. The procedure for validation of stability models of WPPs is then outlined, and an example of on-site model validation test is presented. The process presented for acceptance testing and validation of WPPs will be valid for solar Photovoltaic plants.
