Abstract :
This paper is presented a topology of Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) based on Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC), which can compensate all kinds of disturbance from the supply voltage by the series Active Power Filter (APF) and reactive power, harmonic currents generated by nonlinear load by the shunt APF. Its operating principle and control strategy based on the dq0 transform are discussed. At last, a time-domain simulation module of the 13-level MMC-UPQC is implemented in PSCAD/EMTDC.
