Abstract :
Friday, July 20th, at 4:10 p.m. (EDT), has been chosen by the Federal Civil Defense Administration to take over all regular radio and television programs for a period of about 15 minutes to test emergency communication facilities under the ConElRad Plan. Emergency messages will go out on the ConElRad AM frequencies 640 and 1240 kilocycles. Because of reduced power, FCDA has stated that these broadcasts will probably only be heard about 10 to 15 miles outside of cities and volume may fluctuate every half minute.
