Abstract
This paper focuses on analyzing the impact of load models on distribution system losses estimation. A distribution power flow algorithm based on the ladder iterative technique (forward-backward sweep) with different load models was implemented. Using the IEEE 13 Node Test Feeder, the loss estimation for different types of load models was analyzed. In this study, the load models considered were: constant power, constant impedance, constant current and an exponential model. The numerical study showed a significant variation in the losses estimation due to the change of the load models.
