Abstract :
The Czech school system finds itself in the position of no longer being able to ignore the development of modern technologies. A demand continues to grow in society for computer-literate graduates, able to use these systems for day-to-day work. It is crucial, within the framework of ensuring pan-European and global market competitiveness, for education systems to continually increase IT usage and awareness. The amount of information and data used by societies is for ever growing. Access to information is becoming easier. A school only offering factual, theoretical information to pupils cannot fully prepare them for the future. Simple access to information and the ability to easily communicate around the world offer great potential. This potential should be utilised, with pupils taught exactly how to best operate and make use of such technological advances. The goal of this information is not to discourage technology implementation, but to present a wider picture of the entire process, including potential pitfalls. Primarily, it is designed to share the experiences that we collated as the various projects we monitored unfolded.
