Abstract
This paper presents a review of the recent progress in realizing highly-tunable high-Q evanescent-mode tunable filters for reconfigurable radio front-end. A novel design that uses planar tuning elements, such as surface mount solid-state varactors, is also introduced. These high performance tunable RF components are expected to make a significant impact on the development of reconfigurable RF systems.
