Abstract :
A novel MUSIC algorithm for angle of arrival (AOA) estimation is proposed based on processing the covariance matrix of the array output signals. Unlike the conventional MUSIC algorithm which is an effective method for AOA estimation but it can only do with incoherent signals, the proposed method can solve the problem of the coherent and related signal that is more practical in an actual communication environment. And we consider the problems of AOA estimation under a multipath environment in this paper. By processing the covariance matrix of the array output signals, the rank of the signals is restored to full rank which can effectively estimate AOA of the incident signals. Simulation results obviously shows better performance of proposed method, compared with convention MUSIC algorithm.
