Building industry Eco-system: Experiences from commercialization of TD-SCDMA by Datang telecom

In 2002, The TD industry alliance (TDIA) was established, which speed up the industrialization of TD. TD industry needs many participants to collaborate and create value together, just like a natural ecosystem. This article first builds the model of TD-SCDMA based on the view of industry ecosystem, then explains its participants, the technological factors and value factors. We find that both value flow and knowledge flow are essential for a sustainable eco-system. This paper contributes to eco-system research by exploring value flow and knowledge flows roles in eco-system.
