Abstract
This paper will propose a new type of "narrative interface" including an automatic narrative generation mechanism based on our integrated narrative generation system and the experimental application systems. For the demonstration of three types of narrative interfaces, we introduce Narrative Forest and KOSERUBE as application systems of the integrated system. In the former, a narrative tree structure generated is corresponded to the visual image of a tree and the generation process is always reflected to the growth of the tree. KOSERUBE automatically generates narratives in the style of a folktale with characters/places/objects. They are respectively equivalent to "symbolic narrative interface" and "realistic narrative interface". Another significant concept of our narrative interface is "the fluidity and fixation of a narrative as information content". We will present several examples of narrative interface dependent on the above conceptual ground in this paper.
