Abstract :
A photographic archive of approximately 3200 images realized in 1973 in 4 indigenous Northern Canadian Cree coastal villages are the basis for a repatriation project through the publishing of images in the form of a digital online database. The major tasks of this project consist of 1) the creation of the online database 2) The return of images, presentations and interviews through an ethnographic trip to record the reception by community members 3) efficacy testing of the multimedia presentation and repatriation process, 4) Study of the role of media content in historicizing community knowledge, and 4) identification of new forms of hybrid ethnographic methods through media.
