  • Abstract
The rise and scale of vehicles today makes traffic management a steady problem. Various method such as toll based control systems with electronic smart card recognition, advance warning of traffic status to the control system, and fixed time traffic control signal system are some of the techniques can be used to improve the traffic woes of passengers. However a problem is still remains due to incomplete utilization of the road systems. In this paper, an approach to make the traffic signal adaptive to the dynamic traffic flow using Vehicular adhoc network is implemented. The proposed approach is simulated using Vb.net and compared with the already existing fixed time traffic control system. From the results obtained it is observed that the proposed approach posses better working than the existing approaches.
