  • Abstract
This paper presents some features of our social software that facilitates user´s access to communities and exchange information between community members over mobile environments. The main idea is to provide a tool for fostering communities within a geographic territory, which offers multiple services in order to satisfy the needs of mobiles users sharing a common interest related to a circumstantial situation. The adoption of common standards and ontologies for modeling the different components of a community and their relationships is essential and will provide immediate benefit to overcome the limitations of social networks. The proposed approach has been validated through a prototype for the visitors of a botanical garden.
