Abstract
A survey concerning literacy in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was held at the School of Engineers of the University of Buenos Aires. The overall aim was to state if ICT literacy could be considered as an existing background among our student population. In addition we wanted to identify possible environments where students and faculty can interact and learning is possible. Building such environments is highly dependent on previous experience of students to ICT and its breadth of use. In this work we detail the survey results, draw some conclusions and outline some considerations on how to deal with ICT in the classroom.
