Abstract
A novel piezoelectric Inchworm motor (IWM) that utilizes a cantilever between the load and the extender of the motor have been shown to double the stall load of the motor without compromising on the speed. A simple but effective means to calculate the stall limit is also presented, and applied to both a conventional IWM design as well as the new design. This method was experimentally verified.
