  • Abstract
A new polarization rotator that is able to turn a polarization plane by arbitrary angle up to 90° is proposed. It is based on the strong electromagnetic interaction between two four-slot irises or double-periodic screen cells by the fringing fields. The physical nature of possible broadbandness of such an “optical activity” phenomenon is demonstrated by example of two eigenoscillations of a four-slot composite plane-chiral iris in a square waveguide.
