  • Abstract
Multipactor discharge is a high power RF breakdown resonant effect, in which the energy distribution of emitted electrons is important to determine the discharge threshold. In this paper, two common used energy distribution models of emitted electrons are adopted to investigate the influence on multipactor threshold. The breakdown threshold of multipactor discharge in a practical coaxial line with different energy distribution is simulation using PIC (particle in cell) method and multipactor measurements are performed on it. The results show that the distribution only containing low energy emitted electrons will lead to the multipactor hard to establish, whereas prediction threshold with the energy distribution considering practical elastic and rediffused electrons is much close to the experiment result.
