Abstract
A new method for calculating the input impedance of a cylindrical metallic post in a magnetic wall waveguide is presented. The fundamental mode description in magnetic wall waveguides is very simple. Under this condition the scattering on a cylindrical post can be determined analytically by the Foldy Lax Scattering scheme which considers multiple reflection by the magnetic walls and the post. The new method allows the modeling of via interconnects.
