Abstract :
We researched about the excellent speech production substitutes for speech handicapped patients so far. In this research theme, we developed the controllable artificial larynx with neck myoelectric control. In our previous research, it was clarified that the myoelectric signal measured from sternohyoideus was better for control signal of the electrolarynx. This report is described about optimization of the control methods for controllable electrolarynx. In this report, it was described that the processed myoelectric signal could use as the on/off control signal of electrolarynx. In addition, it was clarified that there was a quadratic relationship function between RMS value of myoelectric signal and pitch frequency of vocalized sound. Using of this function, the controllability of electrolarynx was increased in the viewpoint of number of errors. And, the optimization of control parameter was described.
