Abstract :
This paper presents the design and simulation of a high power wide band cosecant squared pattern Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) array antenna with low side lobe level. A multilayer stacked radiating array of 8x8 elements at C band with center frequency of 5.2 GHz and 500 MHz bandwidth for a peak power 6KW and PRF 1.2% is fed with 1:8 square coaxial feeder network. Mixed Electromagnetic simulation approach is used to reduce design cycle by 50-60%. Radiating array has been designed with 3D-planar solver (Momentum) and high power Square Coaxial Line (SCL) feeder network of antenna design has been designed using Finite Element Method (FEM) based 3D electromagnetic solver. Complete integrated antenna simulation has been performed with FDTD solver.
