Abstract
The rain attenuation at the single scattering approximation is calculated with Mie method. The power angle spectrum (PAS) of receive antenna on the ground under rainfall environment of satellite-to-ground communication downlink is deduced and simulated in the condition of plane wave normal incident in detail. The affection of a given rainfall environment on PAS is discussed. The study on the influence of wavelength and polarization characteristics of incident wave and the rain thickness on PAS is presented.
