Abstract :
Using spade-shaped patch and a U-shaped slot, we achieved a compact ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with an excellence band-rejection characteristic. The measured impedance bandwidth defined by VSWR<;2 of 8.0GHz (3.0-11.0GHz), with a notched band of 5.0-5.9GHz, is obtained. The proposed antenna with an overall dimension of only 38×42mm2 is successfully designed and measured, showing broadband matched impedance and stable radiation patterns. A relative high gain of 4.05dBi is achieved.
