Abstract :
A novel printed monopole antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications with 3.5GHz/5.5GHz band-notched characteristics are presented. The proposed antenna covers the frequency band from 2.45 to 11.0GHz (VSWR<;2), and the obvious dual band-rejection performance in the frequency bands are of 3.20-3.52GH and 5.13-6.09GHz. The prototype has been fabricated and tested, and the measured results agree well with the simulation. The antenna demonstrates omnidirectional radiation patterns across nearly whole operating bandwidth that is suitable for UWB applications. Microwave experiments and numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate its functionalities.
