  • Abstract
A compact ultra-wideband (UWB) filter with dual notched bands is presented using cascaded shorted-stub loaded stepped impedance resonators (SIRs). The basic UWB filter consists of multi-mode resonator (MMR) loaded with T-shaped stub and interdigital feed lines, having flat ultra-wideband response and sharp rejection skirt. Two cascaded shorted-stub loaded SIRs are symmetrically coupled to MMR, introducing dual notched bands with deep and sharp shirt and providing freedom to adjust the notch frequency. A UWB filter with 5.8G/8.0G notched bands is designed and fabricated.
