Abstract
Clutter Canceller Beamformer (CCB) and Amplitude Comparison Monopulse Estimation Scheme (ACMES) are two methods for resolving targets in noise dominated scenarios which have been presented in the literature. These two schemes are compared on the basis of minimum required value of Signal to Clutter Ratio (SCR) value needed to achieve a given probability of false alarm (PFA) value. For this comparison the probability density function for the output noise signal resolved by both the schemes is determined. The input noise is approximated as additive white Gaussian distributed. Under these circumstances the required SCR for CCB is 2.25 dB less than ACMES to achieve a PFA of 10-6.
