Abstract :
This paper presents a 300-GHz band wireless link using a photonics-based transmitter. We improve the bandwidth of components such as photodiodes and Schottky-barrier-diodes, and introduce a polarization multiplexed scheme using two wire-grid polarizers. Error-free transmission experiments with bit error rates of less than 10-11 are successfully demonstrated at a bit rate of 33 Gbps and 48 Gbps by a single polarization link and a polarization multiplexed link, respectively.
