Abstract :
The 700MHz band is newly allocated as the radio spectrum to Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in Japan. In the 700MHz band, which is the lower frequency than the existing ITS band at 5.8GHz, service area can be ensured owing to the decrease of the diffraction loss, particularly in Non Line-of-Sight (NLOS) environments. In this paper, assuming a Vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication environment over intersections where the situation is a typical NLOS environment, the propagation loss difference between the 5.8GHz and 700MHz bands is evaluated. We first analyze the difference theoretically using the ray tracing method. In addition, the experimental results obtained in the field experiments are shown. A comparative evaluation of these results is also discussed.
