Abstract :
Frequency stability of microgrids under islanded operation wins particular attention recently. A new cooperative frequency control strategy based on decentralized multi-agent system (DMAS) is proposed in this study. With the designed average consensus algorithm (ACA), the global information can be accurately shared by only communications between immediate neighboring agents. Depending on the shared global information, the cooperative frequency control strategy, which involves primary and secondary frequency control and multistage load shedding, is executed to achieve a consensus frequency recovery. Simulation results indicate that the proposed strategy can maintain the frequency stability of an islanded microgrid even in emergency condition.
