Abstract :
In this paper the authors present the concept of GPSTracker as an element of Intelligent System for Global Monitoring Detection and Identification of Threats (INSIGMA). GPSTracker system provides several algorithms which analyze and process data received from registered Global Positioning System (GPS) sensors. The algorithms use data filtering according to selected criteria, map mapping GPS trajectory, data analyzing which includes context retrieving from map sensor´s profile. As a result of data processing, the system returns information about the average speed at particular road sections in the monitored area. GPSTracker is perceived as a very important sensor for the generation of the so called dynamic map - dynamic view on traffic for the purpose of route planning and traffic management.
