Abstract
In this paper, a waveform relaxation based algorithm for fast transient solution of board/package level power distribution networks (PDNs) is presented. A key feature of this work is the development of a hybrid iterative technique that provides greater exchange of information per iteration thereby addressing the issue of slow convergence of traditional waveform relaxation algorithms when applied to PDNs. The overall algorithm is highly parallelizable and consequently more efficient when compared to full blown SPICE simulation. A numerical example has been provided to illustrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.
