Abstract :
A widely tunable up-converting optoelectronic-oscillator (OEO) based on Stimulated Brillouin Scattering is proposed and demonstrated, which can convert a low-quality and low-frequency IF signal to a high-quality and high-frequency signal without introducing any high-Q electrical filter. Low-phase-noise microwave signals from 10.15 to 42.15 GHz are experimentally generated.
