Abstract
Extreme-broadband characteristics of photonics-assisted signal generation technologies have recently accelerated a development of millimeter and terahertz-wave applications. This paper will present and discuss how effectively the photonic signal generation schemes are employed to enhance the performance of millimeter and terahertz-wave systems such as wireless communication, spectroscopy, and tomographic imaging by differentiating them from electronics-based approaches.
