Abstract
It is quite often to see unrealizable circuit component values in highly selective and ultra wide band microwave filter design. When elliptic polynomial approach is used for satisfying the ultra wide band requirement stepped resonator impedance ratios can reach unrealizable values like 35:1 impedance ratio. In this article combined microstrip - suspended stripline method is proposed for realizing very high impedance ratios. By using this method, a microwave HP filter which can suppress 30 dBc at 1800 MHz working at 2-18 GHz band is designed and manufactured.
