  • Abstract
    The paper presents an innovative electric drive for home appliance washing machines based on a PMASR (Permanent Magnet Assisted Synchronous Reluctance) motor. The motor magnetic model and the power vs. speed characteristic are presented. The PMASR motor is when experimentally compared with a three phase induction motor, that is, nowadays, the state of the art. The laboratory measurements confirm the higher efficiency of the PMASR drive for washing operation and comparable behavior for spinning.
