Abstract :
Moored Tsunami buoys are deployed near subduction zone to record and report sea level data. The real time data from these platforms are used to issue alert and also for advance scientific research in early warning of Tsunami. Data from these platforms is transmitted to shore station through satellite communication. Tsunami surface buoys deployed around the world are prone to vandalism which disrupts vital data collected and reported by these systems, which place lives of people, property and economies in peril. This paper discusses the new design strategy of popup buoy which acts as redundant system during tsunami surface buoy failure.
