Abstract :
This article defines the innovation ability of urban agglomeration from the perspective of “input-output” and establishes the evaluation index system. The factor analysis and the system clustering analysis are adopted to study innovation ability in four emerging urban agglomerations. The four emerging urban agglomerations are located in the eastern, central and western China. The result shows that innovation ability of Shandong Peninsula Urban Agglomeration is better than that of Chang Zhu Tan Urban Agglomeration. The innovation ability of Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration and Yunnan Urban Agglomeration are poorer than the two urban agglomerations above. According to the specific circumstance of each urban agglomeration and the result of empirical study, the recommendations are proposed to improve the innovation ability of emerging urban agglomeration.
