Title :
SEEPTOOL — A remote demo for small scale seepage problems
Author_Institution :
Fac. of Eng., Univ. of Porto, Porto, Portugal
Abstract :
Seepage or groundwater flow is an important phenomenon that must be well understood and controlled, particularly in the case of earth or rockfill dams. A teaching tool has been developed for use in Soil Mechanics classes which consists in a laboratory setup for seepage studies in small scale models of earth dams and other geotechnical structures. The equipment may also be accessed remotely using an IP camera. A complete demo will be performed during the Exhibition Session. The demo will be complemented by videos and numerical simulations.
