Abstract
This position paper introduces the initial steps towards a business process maintainability model. The proposed model is grounded on a software maintainability model, which has been empirically validated and currently being used in practice. The paper briefly discusses the structure of the model, options for the base measures that can be applied in the business process domain, and challenges and future research for the construction and the validation of the proposed model.
