Abstract :
The inoperability input-output model (IIM) is a simple but useful tool to emphasize cascade effects reduced in the critical interdependency infrastructure systems; the IIM has been developed to help understand infrastructure interdependencies on natural disasters or deliberate man-made attacks. In this paper, we develop a way of classifying the “demand” sector and “supply” sector based on the overall impact. It produces direct and indirect connections based on the demand-driven IIM and the supply-driven IIM. It would offer greater potential in application of integrated risk management after a perturbation.
