Abstract :
This paper presents a design system for remote operation and maintenance system (ROMS) for offshore platform utilized through Integration of Distribution Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and other Engineering work station. The ROMS was developed to support emergency operation and maintenance by the specialized and experienced people from onshore facilities due to the offshore operation could not be accomplished process operations. The ROMS has evolved handle operation, preventive and predictive maintenance which uses the redundancy secure communication infrastructure utilizing through both satellite and fiber optic from onshore to offshore platform facilities. Moreover, the tested result could be perform that, while emergency evacuation occur in which safety risk evaluated, no human offshore operation is possible.
