  • Abstract
    Zero-chirp operation of silicon Mach-Zehnder modulator is achieved in 11.1-Gbps on-off keying and 22.3-Gbps binary phase-shift keying. Low-dispersion-penalty transmission up to 80 km is proved in 11.3-Gbps bit-error-rate measurement for the zero-chirp silicon modulator with performance comparable with a commercialised lithium-niobate modulator.
