Abstract
We have developed a laser holographic projection engine that is an order of magnitude more optically efficient than conventional projection displays. The image is formed by beam propagation from the hologram plane, which places stricter demands on the light source when compared to conventional displays. In this paper we discuss the laser requirements (technical and commercial) for Holographic projection.
